Review:
If you want social innovation, teach people and encourage them to explore and experiment. Encourage divergent thinking.
Written by the Vice President of Samsung-Indonesia company and an International Inspiring Youth, this books talks about technology—especially in innovation and social. Not only shares the knowledge about it, but this book really shows us the process on how the innovation is made.
This book is categorized as a self improvement book in business and economic. It is separated into seven chapters: Early Path, Thinking Forward, Emotional Intelligence, Connecting the Next Millions, The Strategic Staircase, Socio-Innovation Bubble Burst, and Social Entrepreneurship with Social Innovation. Each chapter has 3 or 4 sub-chapters.
Most people prefer the devil's advocate position, so ideas face an uphill climb from the get-go. Then, who within your organization is responsible to argue for the defendant? Who's the advocate for the idea that starts life on death row? What is the Biggest Roadblock?
The chapters are easy to read. At first, it was hard for me to understand—since I'm not a business student or what. But there are also some illustrations and a page full of quotes to help us understand the text. .
A pessimist sees the difficulty in every opportunity; an optimist sees the opportunity on every difficulty.
Who's agree?🙋 I personally agree with the quote above. That quote is originally from Winston Churchill, former British Prime Minister.
This book provides so many information, not only about technology innovations but it also mentions names of famous people, companies, and more—who made the innovation. We can find so many footnotes below those pages that could help us.
Their challenges are our step.
The quote above is from President of Indonesia, Joko Widodo at the World Economic Forum on Eat Asia. I absolutely agree to this quote. In my opinion, we shouldn't see challenges as the thing that is hard to do. Although in reality it may be a very difficult task, we should see it as opportunities to challage ourselves.
Social innovation is different from economic innovation because it is not about proposing new types of production or exploiting new markets in themselves but is about satisfying new needs not provided for by the market or creating new, more satisfactory ways of insertion regarding giving people a place and a role in the production.
As a self-help book, Inno-Fiction has a lot of full-page quotes in it. We would see the satisfying combination of black and orange color. This book also contains helpful illustrations, diagrams, and tables, for a better understanding of the written content.
This book is a must-read for those who are interested in entrepreneurship, and innovation in technology and social.
Since this black edition is written in full English, sometimes for some people it might be hard to understand the languange. This book is available in Bahasa Indonesia edition with orange cover! You can check @innofiction.book or go to www.innofiction.id.
I'd like to say a massive thank you to @gloriamorgen and @tourianpeekybook for giving me the opportunity to review this book.
